Star persona

 TAYLOR SWIFT

Taylor swift is a hugely successful singer/songwriter who has had massive hits, Grammys and other awards also with a constant changing star persona which makes her so unique. She has tailored each different branding to usually her albums, so she reflects the type of music she is singing so the music matches her persona. Swift started off doing only country and western music until developing into being a massive pop icon, who is recognised with many ages due to her music not directed towards a particular audience.

Fearless

She started off her career making country and western music, wearing glamourous gold and silver colours with dramatic and glamourous makeup. At this point she was promoting herself as a more glamourous and powerful artist overall for her star persona.

Speak Now

When Taylor released her next album, she decided to completely change her persona and used lots of purple colours, so she looked very girly, feminine and sophisticated. She sang a lot about love and was seen as a very fairy tale like character.  

These are some of the pictures from Taylors "Speak Now" tour, you can see that she choses to wear lots of purples and dark lipstick, which shows her sophistication and power. It contrasts almost that purple is seen to be quite a childish however expensive colour she uses it to show the persona of glamourousness and sophistication off.

Red

When Taylor released her Red album, this was one of her breakthrough albums as she gained a lot of publicity which she of course completely changed her look for. Maybe reflecting on the name of the album, it was all about power so she wore red lipstick virtually the whole of this time. To compliment this she wore lots of red clothes, she appeared very striking and sophisticated 

1989

Her 1989 album was released after "red" which is the year she is born in. She celebrated this by wearing clothes from 1989, lots of disco style outfits and sequins were present during this to present her star persona linking to her music. 

These are two photos which are of Taylor performing at concerts of hers wearing sparkly disco outfits which are very typical for the 80's. Her curly hair in the second photo she was seen with a lot during this stage.

Reputation

Taylor Swifts reputation album was probably the biggest change to her style she has has so far overall. She deleted all of her instagram posts and replaced them with photos and videos of snakes, in her song "Look what you made me do" she has on a grave stone in the video that her old reputation is dead, and the feuds she had between Kanye West at that time. Her style was sexy and powerful, she wore lots of short clothes and bodysuits with leather and fishnet tights. Her outfits were mainly very dark colours, there were lots of black in her outfits.

Lover - present day Taylor

After the release of her 'Lover' album, Taylor now has completely contradicted her dark look and now wears much more pastel and bright colours. It is very girly and less sexualised now, her songs are now heavily about love and positivity.
